The Superior International Junior Hockey League has handed out
suspensions resulting from Tuesday night’s bench clearing brawl after the
Borderland Thunder-Dryden Ice Dogs game.
Ice Dog Coach Larry Wintoneak and Borderland Bench Boss Dave Allison
will both miss the rest of the regular season but will be back for the start of the playoffs.
Dryden Trainer Kevin McCallum and Thunder Assistant Greg Madill have
both been slapped with 3 game suspensions.
Ice Dog Forwards Blair Oversby and Sean Bassingthwaite as well as
Borderland’s Clayton Windigo, Tyler Barker and Andrew Dault will all sit out
Wednesday night for their third fighting major.
SIJHL Commissioner Harvey Fedell says both teams will not be fined
and the OPP is investigating the incident.
The Ice Dogs will try and avenge a 3-1 loss to the Thunder Wednesday night as the 2-teams hook up at the Dryden Arena.
