The show won’t go on just yet for the Sioux Hudson Entertainment Series.
Chair of the Sioux Hudson Entertainment Series Alyson Martin says performances have been paused due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“We are not going to be starting anything until the new year. This year it is January through May we’ve got performances lined up in the wings and are just awaiting the greenlight.”
Entertainment Series in the region would have been well underway by now in a normal year as performances are usually scheduled from September to May.
Martin adds they won’t be announcing the lineup until it’s confirmed the season can go on.
If the season were to start, it will consist of a mix of scheduled performers from the fall as well as a new lineup of entertainers.
Martin stresses they will keep their audience informed.
“We’ve got a really nice cross section of performances but we’re letting people know that as we know more about it (what’s happening), we’ll make sure we bring them up to speed about who we have lined up. If and when the lineup is going to be launched and happening, then we also make sure for people who aren’t on technology we post it around our community.”
Martin says they’ve received an outpouring amount of support.
“We’ve had so many people, audience members and supporters alike, approaching us and asking us what the plan is and really hoping that down the line we can navigate the new normal as we move forward.”
Being able to use the performance space at the High School will be another bridge to cross Martin says, if and when it gets to that point.
