The Federation of Municipalities of Ontario has wrapped up a three year pilot project to get more women and minorities into politics.
Sioux Lookout Councillor Yolaine Kirlew was one of the people brought on to lead the campaign.
She says one of their goals was to find out why women and minorities are under-represented on municipal councils.
Kirlew says while just 27% of municipal council consists of women, that number becomes even smaller when you factor in immigrants or Indigenous people.
She says Sioux Lookout was one of five communities selected to be part of the fact-finding mission.
