Dryden Looking Good Financially This Year

The City of Dryden is on the right path financially for the 2018 fiscal year.

Council has received the Quarter 2 Financial report and Treasurer Steven Lansdell-Roll says revenues are above expectations and expenditures are below projections.

Lansdell-Roll says at this point they are looking at a $145,000 surplus at the end of the year.

However, he stresses it’s too early to get excited as the City always has to prepare for unexpected costs.

Lansdell-Roll says he will present a more robust projection in Quarter 3 and if it remains stable he is recommending Council start thinking about where they want to allocate the funds.

Dryden is also under spending its 2018 capital budget right now.

Lansdell-Roll says this is largely due to timing as most of the work being carried out this year is in Quarter 3.

Three projects at the Airport have been shelved as funding applications weren’t successful.

Lansdell-Roll says all other projects are expected to be completed and he believes they will finish the year on budget.

The 2018 capital program called for $391,000 in City funding.
