Sioux Lookout Handles Boat Sites

The Ministry of Natural Resources will no longer operate boat launches
in Sioux Lookout.
The Municipality has agreed to take over 8-sites and possibly one more
by Summer’s end.
Director of Community Services Al Howie says it’s vital for residents and tourists that the launches stay open.
Howie says they plan to clean up the launches, maintain and improve
them, as well as implement user fees.
He says the fee will be fair and based on consultations held
with stakeholders and the community.
The Town has applied for Provincial funding for start-up costs.
