The Provincial Police are hosting a community event Wednesday at the Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre.
The open house will feature displays of the OPP specialty teams, including the Marine Unit, ATV’s, the Crime Unit and Police Negotiators.
The public event starts at 1:00pm and experts will be in attendance to answer questions and demonstrate equipment.
Retired Sergeant Darryl Wilson says the goal is to enhance their relationship with community members.
Wilson says there will be ample opportunity to walk around and learn all about policing.
He notes at 3:00pm the Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit will be putting on a demonstration.
Wilson adds OPP Uniform Recruiting will be hosting an Information Session at 6:00pm upstairs at the Rec. Centre.
He stresses there’s huge opportunities to work as an officer in northern Ontario and serve the community.
