Sioux Lookout OPP Looking For Summer Help

A 2017 Youth in Policing Initiative is being launched by Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout.

Media Relations Coordinator Charlene Brown says they are accepting job applications from two students aged 14 to 17.

Brown says they are looking for teens who reflect the cultural diversity of the community and agree to a mentor relationship with OPP staff and officers.

She notes successful applicants will get a taste of various aspects of policing including traffic safety, office administration, community events and data collection.

Brown says it’s an eight week program that is aimed at getting students interested in a career in policing.

Here is the requirements to apply:
-must reside in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout or Hudson.
-must be between 14 and 17 years old.
-must be currently attending school and returning to school in September 2017.
-must have own transportation to work.
-must successfully complete the recruitment/background check process.

The deadline to apply is Friday.
