Sioux Lookout Theft and Fire

A Sioux Lookout youth is in custody following a recent mini-crime spree.
Police were called to an Abram Lake Road home after a report of a stolen vehicle however while on route, officers responded to an explosion.
OPP say a fire completely destroyed a truck and caused considerable damage to a car.
A short time later, the stolen vehicle was located in a ditch on Highway 72 and the driver was found hiding the bush.
OPP say an investigation found the accused was also responsible for the vehicle fire.
Police say a 17-year-old man faces charges of impaired driving, unauthorized possession of a weapon, theft over $5,000 and 2 counts of mischief to property over $5,000.
His name can’t be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
