Sioux Lookout to Host First Nations Meeting

A public hearing on the First Nations Revenue Sharing Act will be held in Sioux Lookout on September 20th.
Provincial NDP Member Gilles Bisson says the proposed bill would allow First Nations to tax Mining and Timber companies conducting work on their land.
Bisson says the bill would clear up the red tape of red tape of re-negotiating agreements with interested companies.
He adds after the 4 native hearings wrap up, the NDP will hold similar meetings with Mining companies.
