Sioux Lookout Will Do Its Own Recycling

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has decided to go it alone when it comes to recycling as of July 1st.
Sioux Lookout Mayor John MacDonald says the community has signed a deal with Thunder Bay-based Recool Canada for residential recyclables.
He says the town is also planning to privatize its commercial garbage pickup.
Sioux Lookout is joining Kenora in opting out of a Dryden-based recycling program, currently in the works to replace the Northwest Ontario Recycle Association.
However, Atikokan, Fort Frances and a number of smaller communities in the region are considering joining the Dryden program.
