The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is pleased with the Ministry of Transportation.
The MTO will be making improvements to the Pelican River Bridge, on Highway 72, near the Ed Ariano By-Pass.
Deputy Clerk Brian MacKinnon says preliminary work on the bridge will start at the end of February, in preparation for construction in May 2015.
He adds that flagging will be going on and traffic will be reduced to one lane.
MacKinnon also adds in May, motorists should expect the installation of three-way traffic signal lights on the south lane of First Avenue, just prior to the bridge.
