It’s unfortunate but high water levels and unsafe conditions have forced organizers of Sioux Lookout Walleye Weekend to cancel the 2022 tournament.
Officials say it was a very difficult decision but the right thing to do.
A number of concerns were cited including flood conditions, boat launch access, restricted lake access and the risk of damage.
A State of Emergency remains in place in Sioux Lookout.
Fees paid can be carried over to the 2023 tournament, however a full refund for this year will be provided if need be.
