The Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout are off the hook after a ruling by the province’s civilian police watchdog.
The Special Investigations Unit has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against an officer in relation to the arrest of a 22-year-old woman in Sioux Lookout in April of 2016.
The woman had claimed a shoulder injury she received was the result of how she was handled while being taken into custody.
The SIU says there is no evidence to support the woman’s claim.
