Three investigators from the province’s civilian police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit, are in Thunder Bay today.
Spokesperson Monica Hudon says it follows a weekend incident in Neebing Township involving a Provincial Police officer who followed a vehicle.
Hudon says the driver was stopped at a home on Highway 61.
She says the man was injured during his arrest.
Hudon says the man was taken to the hospital where it was determined he sustained a broken eye socket.
She notes the name of the officer under investigation will not be released unless a charge is laid.
