If last night was any indication, support behind a skateboard park in Dryden is strong, now the wheels are in motion to begin fundraising.
The group, now known as the SPOT Committee pleaded their case to a large crowd and gained full support.
Chair Sheldon Hyatt says they want the park to be accessible to skateboarders and BMX riders.
Hyatt says the project will likely cost $170,000 pending grants, donations and private involvement.
The group is eyeing North Dryden by the Youth Centre as its home.
Both Police Chief Shayne MacKinnon and Mayor-elect Anne Krassilowsy support the facility, stressing youth must be involved in the design and construction process.
Hyatt hopes to have the park ready for Summer 2004.
