Smart Growth

The regional committee, designed to come up with ideas to stimulate the Northwestern economy, is holding its first face to face meeting in Thunder Bay tomorrow.
Smart Growth was set up by the province earlier this year.
Fort Frances Mayor Glenn Witherspoon, Smart Growth Chair, says committee members will have a chance to meet with provincial officials who will help them make contacts to understand different industries in the North and how to spur economic growth.
The committee would like to stop the exodus of young people who leave the region for other opportunities.
