A 20 year old Kenora man is in hospital following a freak snowmachine accident over the weekend.
The O.P.P. say two men were sledding in the area of Muriel Lake, northwest of Kenora, over the weekend, when one of the snowmobiles developed mechanical problems.
The driver got off the sled and began working on it, while
his companion kept driving around.
Police say the throttle on the second sled got stuck and the driver fell off.
The 2001 Polaris kept going and became airborne after hitting a snowbank, and ran into the stranded sledder.
The victim was taken to Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora and then transferred to hospital in Duluth, Minnesota for further treatment.
The O.P.P. say the man sustained serious injuries, including trauma to the head.
