Snowmobile Permits Could Become More Costly

Even though the season has passed, the future of winter tourism in the Region remains a hot topic.

There is talk the price of a Snowmobile trail permit could rise from $35 to $50 a day next year.

Gerry Cariou, Executive Director of the Sunset Country Travel Association says the escalating cost of a pass is hurting the regional industry.

Cariou adds the Province and the OFSC need to work together to control the price of permits.

Several clubs in the region have threatened to close down in recent years because of the soaring price for trail permits and a lack of sales.
