Snowmobile Trail Permit Fees Going Up

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is once again raising the price of a trail fee.
The Ministry of Transportation has approved the new rates of $180 prior to December 1st and $230 after that.
Spokesperson Craig Nicholson says the hike is due to soaring liability insurance rates and the cost to maintain the 46,000 kilometre trail system.
Nicholson says the industry is holding its own but notes they are talking to the Province about financial support next year.
