A long time dream is about to becoming a reality.
Work is now underway to establish a Soccer Pavilion at Dryden Rotary Park.
A ground-breaking ceremony was held Thursday.
The project has been in the works for roughly six years thanks to fundraising efforts, government funding, in-kind donations and business support.
Spokesperson Gary Nickle believes the facility will be a major economic generator, with an opportunity to host major events and tournaments.
It will be a 4,500 square foot, fully covered and accessible facility, with bathrooms, storage, canteen and change rooms.
The complex is expected to be completed in the Fall of this year.
The building is considered another jewel in on-going efforts to create more sports and recreation opportunities in Dryden.
