Dryden Police Chief Rob Davis says social media played a major role in the arrest of a 22-year-old Geraldton man.
Christopher Donylyk was arrested for assaulting a Pikangikum man at a local fast food restaurant.
Davis says policing has changed since the introduction of social media and at first he was a bit skeptic on the power of it.
A video on the incident appeared on YouTube and Davis says that helped officers quickly track the accused as well as suspects.
Davis adds that in the old days, this type of investigation would have taken two or three weeks.
