Some Ministry of Natural Resources fire fighters are back home.
All of those who were working in the Yukon and 124 deployed to Alberta the last couple of weeks were allowed to return to Ontario Sunday.
The MNR still has about a hundred personnel working in the western province.
Meantime, it’s relatively quiet on the forest fire front in northwestern Ontario.
There were just three new fires reported on the weekend, all in the far north.
The MNR still lists five fires as being active, but all are identified as either being under control or being held.
The fire hazard is low in the southern sectors of the region and high in the far north.
There is more rain in the forecast over the next few days.
