Clean-up efforts continue across northwestern Ontario as a result of the damage caused from Thursday’s heavy and wet snow.
Several rural roads are blocked in our area, notably Eagle River Road, where detours were needed earlier Friday.
Crews continue to try and cut and remove debris in a number of different parts of the region.
Meantime, Hydro One is starting to make a small dent in massive power outage.
The number of customers in the Dryden area has dropped from 73 to 30 and power could be back on at 3:00 Friday afternoon.
447 customers in the Eagle River-Vermilion Bay district are still in the dark, but crews hope to have the lights on Friday night at 6:00.
The same goes for some 150 individuals in the Blue Lake area.
The lights are slowly starting to come on in the Kenora area, however power won’t be fully restored until 8:00 and 10:00 Friday night.
The hardest hit area is Ingolf, where 228-customers will have to make alternate plans as the outage is now expected to last into Sunday afternoon.
