An Everett, Ontario man has been fined $2,000 for illegally hunting moose northeast of Dryden.
Court heard that John Ireland had shot a cow moose on Basket Lake Road back in October, but he didn’t know the location of 7-other people in his hunting party at the time, including
the person who had the valid tag for the moose.
The MNR say Ireland committed a number of infractions, including failing to immediately secure a seal on the animal he had shot, and failing to immediately communicate with his hunting party that he had shot a moose.
He was also not within 5-kilometers of the person who had the valid tag.
