2010 should be a better year for the forest products industry.
That’s the feeling of the manager of the Weyerhauser Timberstrand Mill in Kenora.
Bill Candline says they’ve been stock-piling logs in recent weeks to prepare for the spring.
Candline adds that they will also be hiring some new associates in anticipation of an increase in orders this spring.
He says all the economic indicators point to increase housing starts in the United States this year.
Candline adds the mill is currently operating a maximum of three and a half days a week, but expects that will increase as demand picks up later this year.
