Dryden Council hasn’t decided on the best way to replace out-going Councilor Mike Wood, but one person has already thrown his name in the hat.
Local businessman Richard Jonasson tells CKDR News that he’s interested in the seat that will be left vacant on January 31st.
Jonasson picked up 4.84% of the votes in the 2010 Municipal election.
Council can appoint someone as a replacement or hold a by-election.
The financial impact of a by-election ranges from $14,000 to $38,000.
Members have agreed to hold a special meeting before February 21st to discuss the issue.
