Construction of an addition to house the CT Scan Unit and Digital X-Ray machine is underway at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
A special ground breaking ceremony was held Tuesday at the Hospital.
The 1,400 square foot facility is expected to be completed by the end of May 2009.
Hospital CEO Wade Petranik says some 2,300 people had to travel out of town last year to receive CT treatment.
Petranik says the project is still $400,000 short of its $1.5-million goal and donations are still being accepted.
Special Moment for Dryden Hospital
