Special Weather Statement For Northwestern Ontario

A special weather statement is in effect for much of northwestern Ontario from Kenora to Red Lake, Sioux Lookout, Fort Frances, Dryden and all the way to Kakabeka Falls, but it does not include Thunder Bay.

Snow will continue to spread eastwards today.

Approximately 10 to 15 cm is expected by late tonight when the snow tapers off.

The snow is associated with a low pressure system developing over Wyoming which is expected to track over Northwestern Ontario by Sunday morning.

The following areas are affected the by special weather statement: Red Lake – Woodland Caribou Park, Ear Falls – Perrault Falls – Western Lac Seul, Savant Lake – Sturgeon Lake, Sioux Lookout – Eastern Lac Seul, Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog, Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson, Dryden – Vermilion Bay, Ignace – English River, Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River, Seine River Village – Mine Centre, Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park, Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
