St.Peter Wins PWT, Butts Impresses

Bill St. Peter is the first person to win the PWT Walleye Championship
on Canadian soil.
The Bay City, Michigan professional overtook first and second round
leader Mark Brumbaugh to capture the overall title by 3 pounds.
St. Peter’s three round total was 43.65 pounds and he says he worked
hard to win the title.
He wins $86,000 in cash and prizes for his efforts.
St. Peter and Dryden amateur Greg Waites were the big fish award
winners with a 10.04 walleye on Day 2.
The Amateur Championship went to Reid Norine who wins a new
boat and motor.
The Oakdale, Minnesota angler says he will always remember this event.
Dryden’s Greg Waites was second, while Dryden’s Michael Cortens came
in third.
Dryden’s John Butts put behind a disappointing first day performance to
finish 7th in the 52nd professional walleye field.
The hometown hero caught a 3-day total of 32.39 pounds and says he was
on his game for a second straight day.
Butts takes home $11,500 for his effort.
Kenora’s Larry Snow finished 51st.
