Start Of Consultations Into Missing And Murderded Aboriginal Women

The federal government’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women inquiry is taking shape.

Discussions with family members who lost loved ones kicked off in Thunder Bay this week.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett says families expressed they wanted the probe to cross into the United States.

Bennett notes they’ve made sure everyone involved knows there’s emotional supports in place if they need them.

Thunder Bay was the initial stop on a cross-country consultation process promised by the new Liberal government.
