Start Up Date Announced; Smell Identified

The paper mill and converting area at the Dryden Mill will start-up
again for a 3-week period starting September 9th.
The papermachine and convertor have been down since August 12th.
Domtar Spokesperson Bonnie Skene says the same area will face another
shutdown starting on September 29th.
Skene says they will monitor market conditions for a 3-week period
following the 29th to deterime an appropriate start-up date.
Meantime, Domtar and CKDR have been recieving calls of an unusual
odour coming from the Dryden Mill.
Skene says a piece of equipment called a ‘stripper’ broke off
Wednesday in the pulp-recovery boiler area.
Skene says the malfunction caused the unusual odour and environmental
crews are addressing the problem.
She notes the situation has improved and Domtar apologizes for any
inconvenience.
