A State of Emergency has been declared in the remote northern community of Fort Hope First Nation.
A building located beside the water purification reservoir went up in flames on Tuesday.
Kenora MP Bob Nault says he’s concerned with the situation, noting the blaze has contaminated the water supply.
The Department of Indian and Northern Affairs has shipped four thousand litters of water to the community.
The water is now being distributed out of the school gymnasium but is also being rationed.
Nault says work continues to try and restore the drinking water system in the community.
