Statistics Canada has released its 2006 report on
Ontario’s Labour trends.
Most of the workforce in the region is nearing
retirement age, with a declining rate of young people
entering the workforce to replace retiring baby boomers.
Stats Canada Analyst Tracey Leesti says Kenora’s
manufacturing sector took a hit with the closure of the
Abitibi mill.
