The final long-weekend of summer is here, and for the Provincial Police, it’s another weekend of stepped up enforcement on area highways and waterways.
Constable Guy Beaudry says officers are putting extra emphasis on aggressive driving, speeding, seat-belt use, following to close and unsafe passing.
Beaudry says they’ll also be watching for those continuing to drive while using electronic devices.
The fine for that infraction is now $490 and three demerit points.
He’s also reminding folks to not drink and drive.
