Many of us are taking advantage of the warm, sunny summer we’ve been having by spending more time outdoors.
But the Canadian Cancer Society is warning us about the dangers of overexposure to the sun.
Spokesperson Michelle St. Pierre says prolonged exposure and successive sunburns could lead to problems including skin cancer.
St. Pierre is encouraging everyone to examine your skin from time to time.
She says if see you notice any bumps or spots on your body which seem to change, get bigger or might be itchy, you should consult your doctor.
St. Pierre says it’s possible those could be early signs of melanoma.
