Steve Szachury

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve Szachury. Steve passed away on March 29, 2013 at the age of 87 with his family by his side. Steve was born on January 20, 1926 in a small town near Budapest, Hungary.
Steve was a loving husband to his wife of 65 years Elsie of Dryden. He is also survived by his dear children Gordon (Lorrianne), Cathy, Joanne (Roland), Kevin (Andrea), 3 sisters Mary, Alice and Ella, one brother Joe, 13 grand children, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and numerous in laws, nieces (great), nephews (great) and extended family.
Steve filled his long life doing things he loved with his family and friends – golfing, fishing, hunting, camping and racing.
Steve’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Dryden Regional Health Centre and Staff for the exceptional care they provided and making his last day comfortable.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday April 3, 2013 at the Dryden Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Dryden Cemetery.
