Weyerhaeuser is still trying to iron out the final details regarding
the closure of the #1 Paper Machine at the Dryden Mill.
The Company and the Unions have been meeting non-stop since the
announcement was made last December.
The final layoff numbers are still unclear and Mill Manager Norm Bush
says a number of issues remain unresolved.
Bush expects the process to be completed in the next 2-weeks.
When the closure announcement was first made, it was expected that
80-workers and office staff would lose their job effective April 1st.
So far some 6 management staff have been affected.
