There is still time to sign-up and collect pledges for the first ever Summer “Polar Plunge” in Dryden.
The Special Olympics fundraiser is July 1st at the Riverview Lodge following the Kinsmen Dragon Boat Races.
It’s being hosted by the Dryden Police Service and Provincial Police.
Community Services Officer Denise Szachury says you can register on-line at www.polarplunge.ca and then selecting the Dryden event.
Szachury says they have set a $5,000 goal.
Those taking part will jump into a bin, donated by B&M Delivery Service, containing cold water and 3,000 pounds of ice.
Szachury says the Special Olympics is the charity of choice for the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.
