John Rafferty is taking a run at the provincial NDP nomination in the Thunder Bay-Atikokan riding.
The former federal politician wants to ensure northwestern Ontario moves forward in the right direction.
Rafferty says one major issue he’d like to explore is the purchase of cheaper electric power from Manitoba into northwestern Ontario.
He says right now the north hardly gets electricity from nuclear power plants in southern Ontario, yet we’ve been paying all of its costs.
No date has been set for the nomination meeting.
