The clean up will continue in Ignace today after Tuesday’s major wind
storm.
Town officials say things won’t be the same for a long time.
The storm ripped the roof off the MTO building and the Northwoods Inn
and displaced one of the massive sand cones.
Environment Canada confirms it wasn’t a twister but was described as a micro-burst.
Hydro has been restored to most areas of the community however some
40-customers will remain without power until noon today.
Emergency personnel from Dryden and Wabigoon along with MNR staff
assisted in the handling of yesterday’s event.
No one was injured.
A state of emergency remains in effect.
