A day of ice-fishing on Lake of the Woods turned out to be quite an ordeal for a 65 year old Selkirk, Manitoba resident.
The angler had set up an ice-fishing hut near Buffalo Point Friday morning, but the piece of ice he was on broke free from shore and started floating out into the lake.
Emergency responders from both sides of the border were contacted and managed to rescue the ice fisherman seven hours later.
The R.C.M.P. say the man didn’t seem overly concerned with the whole episode and continued to fish while waiting to be rescued.
