The pickets may still be up today but a tentative contract offer has been reached to end the seven-week-old Ontario public service strike.
Details of the tentative agreement are being released.
OPSEU says they have maintained employees control over pension surpluses, boosted wages across the board and improved job quality for those on temporary contracts.
The wage increase is 8.45 percent over three years, plus an additional five percent for Corrections workers.
Dryden-based union spokesman Carl Bleich says workers could vote on the deal as early as this weekend.
There is a general feeling that government employees could start returning to work as early as Monday.
