A strike deadline at the Bombardier plant in Thunder Bay has been set for 1 o’clock this afternoon.
Unifor National President Jerry Dias is in the City in a bid to broker a last minute deal.
He says the company doesn’t have a long term commitment to protect jobs at the facility.
Bombardier put up a fence around its property Sunday, something Dias says is sending the wrong message.
He says if they have enough money to erect a fence, they should have enough to put more money into their pension plan.
Roughly 900-workers are impacted.
