We should know by tonight if 4-thousand Ontario government workers in the Northwest will be willing to walk off the job to back contract demands.
The unionized workers have spent the past three days voting on whether to take job action as early as the middle of the month.
Ontario Public Service Employees Union president Leah Casselman says they’re hoping for a stong mandate to strengthen their hand in bargaining with the Tory government.
Most of the OPSEU members in the Northwest work for the courts and the Ministries of Natural Resources and Labour.
The outstanding issues remain wages, benefits, job security and pensions.
Results of the strike vote will be released this evening.
