A group of students in Dryden are preparing to face the ultimate challenge.
As part of the “Student Survival Challenge” being held at New Prospect School next month, Reagan Breeze with the Dryden Fire Service says they will spend the night living on bare essentials, simulating a real emergency.
Breeze says the students will only have their emergency survival kits, which includes non-perishable goods and water.
Breeze notes in a real situation, it could take up to 72-hours for emergency services to respond.
He says the Ontario Provincial Police, Dryden Police, Dryden Fire Service, Ham Radio Club, Canadian Red Cross, Emergency Management Ontario and many more organizations will be involved.
Some 30-students are expected to take part.
