Student Workers Future Uncertain In the Northwest

The Dryden-area Union spokesperson for striking civil servants suggests the provincial government is putting summer students at risk during the fire season.
Carl Bleich says hundreds of students that work as firefighters in the Northwest during the summer are hesitant about returning to the job this fire season.
Bleich says the coming months are usually reserved for training and preparation for the fire season.
However, only the absolute basic training will be done.
Students are also concerned about job security and pay.
