Stunt Driving/Impaired Charges Laid In Traffic Stop

A Manitoba man is without a licence and vehicle after he was nabbed for going way over the speed limit.

Provincial Police in Rainy River were conducting radar enforcement on Highway 11 near Little Fork Road on Tuesday when they clocked an eastbound vehicle doing 170 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone.

Officers stopped the vehicle and determined the driver was also impaired.

OPP say 25-year-old Nicholas Englund of Buffalo Point faces 2-counts of impaired and 1-count of racing a motor vehicle.

The stunt driving charge automatically comes with a 14 day vehicle impoundment and 30 day licence suspension.
