Summer School Returning To The Classroom

An encouraging sign that students might be able to return to the classroom this fall.

School boards are being allowed to offer in-person summer school in August with strict health and safety measures in place.

Virtual programming will occur in July.

The province is allocating over $62 million in funding for summer courses.

The government says more than 53% of youth in Ontario aged 12 to 17 have received at least one COVID shot and vaccination efforts will be ramped up ahead of September to return to a more normal learning experience.

The province has also announced for the new school year, they will be providing more than $1.6 billion to help protect staff and students from coronavirus with infrastructure, ventilation and other health and safety improvements.
