It is early in the summer, but the executive director of the Sunset Country Travel Association believes American tourist traffic may be down slightly this year.
Gerry Cariou says the continuing stagnation of the U-S economy could be to blame.
He says, to a lesser degree, terrorist threats and 9-11 could be a reason why some Americans are staying home this year.
However, he notes it is still early and things could change before the official end of the tourist season.
