Support Against Proposed Casino

Any decision is still some time off but Dryden Council is being urged to not support a Casino in the area.
The Dryden and Area Ministerial Association says U.S. based studies show a higher crime rate and other social problems are linked to a Gaming Facility.
City Manager Arie Hoogenboom says a feasibility study into a proposed Convention Centre and Casino is just underway and a final report is not expected until the end of the year.
Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says Wabigoon Lake First Nation has not indicated where they might want to erect a Casino if the project was ever approved.
